After graduating from Lübeck University, I started my career in the Center for Space Medicine in Charité University Berlin, where I was involved in Space Medicine and Dinosaur Research projects. The next step was Cologne University Hospital: I completed Basic Training in Trauma Surgery. This was followed by three years in the Institute of Aerospace Medicine of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), serving as “Head Medical Doctor” for bedrest studies, and exploring musculoskeletal adaptation in several large international research studies. I completed my residency in Physiology at DLR in 2014, became an Emergency and Sport Physician. In addition, I will finish my residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at RWTH Aachen University Hospital in Germany soon.
