I am the Professor for Innovative Implant Development (fracture healing) at Saarland University in Germany, an Orthopaedic Surgeon and a Physiologist. My main fields of research are the musculoskeletal system in spaceflight, immobilization and ageing, as well as bone fractures and biomechanics.
